Deeco
metals, a company specializing in the manufacture and world distribution
of continuously cast bronzes has provided over years of service
to world markets.
Our mill pioneered the continuous casting of phosphor bronze in
the Southern Hemisphere.
Quality and service have always been the hallmark of Deeco bronze.
Deeco has a long tradition of excellent service both to local
customers and our international markets. We look forward to a
future of mutually beneficial and profitable business.
Equipment
From the simple beginnings when our mill built the first casting
machines in Africa, the company has commissioned two state-of-the-art
casting units. These two casters incorporate the most modern technology
available. Designed to meet specific requirements, these units
were built and commissioned in 1992. The unique features of the
new casters are re-usable dies, faster change over time and high
speed production.
This
improved system caters well for shorter runs and special alloys
production; resulting in improved delivery to customers locally
and world wide. Improved electronic control of the casting process
ensures a superior product of fine uniform grain structure. This
investment today assures our position for the future as "World
Leaders in Bronze"
Quality
Our mills have complete control of quality in fully integrated
manufacturing plants which allows for total control of alloy melting,
casting, quality control, packing for export and shipping.
Deeco has an established, effective quality assurance system which
ensures consistent quality to internationally recognized standards.
Glass Bottle Neck Moulds
XX alloy was pioneered by our mill and by ongoing development
the alloy has been refined to the superior product that it is
today.
Superior Properties* Homogenous material
- No inclusions
- No blowholes
- No cracks
- No flaws
- Low rejection rate
- Fine grain structure
- Uniform hardness
- Good machinability
XX
alloy is the ideal material for bottle neck moulds because of:
- excellent thermal conductivity
- negligible temperature deformation allowing faster production
rates
- resistance to wear, corrosion and scaling, leading to long
production runs and greatly reduced down time
Deeco stocks a range of popular D section size for prompt shipment
and other shapes and sizes can be produced on request.
The comprehensive range of available sizes and excellent surface
finish means:
- less machining
- less waste
Bearings
Bearings are important parts of all types of moving machinery and
equipment. The successful operation of a machine may depend on the
performance of the bearing surfaces which alone may represent a
small proportion of the total cost of the equipment.
Why use Deeco Bronze for bearings?
Deeco bearing stock is consistent and manufactured to internationally
accepted standards.
Deeco alloy bearings:
- are reliable
- are used routinely for a wide range of applications
- can be specially tailored to meet a unique application
- are produced in a wide range of popular sizes in convenient
lengths
- can be produced at short notice to suit special non-standard
sizes and requirements
The selection of a copper alloy to suit a specific application will
depend on factors such as:
- loading conditions
- running speed
- operating environment
- size of the bearing
